This 1930s front door was one of our reclaimed originals. It was hand picked to be fully restored by our expert team. We also supplied fully bespoke stained glass panels which were created from our clients specifications (see drawing below). The door features a popular 1930’s style with a glazed curved top square panel over three solid lower.. The Arts and Crafts movement during the 1920’s and 1930’s resulted in a resurgence of interest in using stained glass. Doors were being decorated with beautiful glass panels, created by William Morris with floral patterns and designs based on medieval themes. Morris encouraged the art of painting the glass as well as stained glass.

1920 – 1939. The overall look of a 1920s and 1930s front door displayed another distinct change in style. The mid-rail and letterbox (which would previously have been around waist height) shifted further up the door, making the proportions one-third above and two-thirds below. Fashions in panelling were moving on as well, and it became more.. The style of a 1930s front door is equally distinctive. They tended to have glazing in the top panel, door furniture in the upper portion of the door, and three square panels of equal size. These unique features combine to give a door its very recognisable appearance. Today, painting a 1930s front door in a bright, vibrant colour is an exciting.
